Admissions

You must apply online here:

If you want to apply to a university course, you must click the course page and click the 鈥渁pply now鈥 button, which directs you to our partner university page.

Applications for Higher Education typically close from June to July. However, clearing is available for some courses if you are applying late.

Applications for Adult Education must be submitted by September 3rd 2024 for the upcoming academic year.

No 鈥 we do not charge for handling your application for an adult education or higher education course.

If you are applying to a university course via UCAS, UCAS will charge you for processing your application. The fee is聽拢27.50 for 2024/25, and 拢28.50 for 2025/26. We do not charge for handling your application.

Yes. You can only apply online. If you are unable to apply, please contact us at AdultEd@asfc.ac.uk or call us on 0161 6668215.

You may need to provide your National Insurance Number, along with your address and contact details. We may require further documentation at enrolment which will be communicated with you.

We offer Higher Education (university) courses including:

  • PGCE Primary with QTS (teacher training)
  • PGCE / Certificate in Education Post 16 (teacher training)
  • BA (Hons) in Education top-up
  • Foundation Degree in Education

We offer Adult Education courses including:

  • Access to HE Diploma in Health
  • Foundation Year Art and Design
  • Supporting Teaching and Learning (Teaching Assistants) Level 2 and 3
  • Early Years Practitioner Level 2, 3 and 4
  • Preparing to work in schools Level 1
  • GCSE Maths
  • GCSE English
  • GCSE Biology

Class sizes typically range from 20 to 25 students.

No 鈥 we do not offer online courses.

The college has a support fund to assist students identified as having the greatest financial need, helping them remain in education and improve their life choices. We may be able to provide assistance with travel and childcare costs.

Support Services

Our careers advice team assists with CVs and university applications. The inclusive learning team provides support for additional needs. Our counselling service helps with stress management and mental health. The IT department assists with technological issues like student accounts and emails, and our chaplaincy offers a space for prayer.

We also have a library, computer suite, Costa Coffee, food market and more.

Our Higher and Adult Education Centre is based at 天美传媒 College located on Darnton Road, across from Tameside Hospital and just 10 minutes from Ashton-under-Lyne city centre.
